Changing Your Toyota Car Radio

It will not be surprising to note at times where Toyota car owners would want to change their car radio for one reason or another. Unless the frames are different, it is a simple take out and re-install of the new radio.

Of course you have to take into consideration as well the wires which have color combinations that are normally the same with some radios. Also, there will be guides normally available on the chassis support of a new radio. Using that as a reference when it is time to connect the wires. Also, don’t forget to use electrical tape to make sure that the new connections are not exposed.

Changing a Blown Fuse for your Toyota

While most Toyota owners would want a certified electrician to replace a simple fuse, if you know which part of your car blew a fuse, you can change it yourself. All you have to do is determine the proper amperes and see if the fuse is really out of commission.

Do remember that you cannot toy around with the specified amps of the fuses installed. Doing so may result in some short circuit problems in the car’s whole electrical system and may do more than blow another fuse. It can burn certain electrical wiring and that can add more problems than solve your car.

Toyota Steering Wheel Replacement

There will be times where Toyota car owners would want to jazz up their car by replacing the original steering wheel with new ones available today. Some turn to style while others look towards smaller sizes. All you need is the steering wheel adapter and loosen the original one with the use of a proper wrench.

The size of the bolt is normally the same with the wheel bolts, assuming that you have still the stock ones. Just be sure to place it the right way like properly centering the new steering wheel. Improper installation will make it awkward for you to turn the wheel while driving.

Checking the Brake and Power Fluids

Modern cars make use of fluids to ensure that they function properly. Each time we go out and use our cars, it would be wise to include them in our checkups to avoid problems along the road.

Remember that if you allow these fluids to run out, it can damage the car mechanism that it is involved. For sure, you will have to meet the levels required for these fluids as often as possible.

Some people could care less. As long as they are functioning properly, then these factors should not be taken care of. Pop the hood every once in a while. All it takes is a couple of minutes.

Replacing the Tail Light Bulbs

Whether it is your signal light or your tail lights, you can easily change the bulbs to avoid getting into trouble. There are two bulbs needed so you must check it out. Single contact (normally for the turn signals) and double contact (brake lights). A simple clip or screw is available the trunk area for the tail lights, while the front signal lights normally have a screw or a clip that holds it into place.

It will just take you a couple of minutes. All you have to do is know where to find the screws and assembly and you can replace bulbs instantly.

Schedule Timing Belt Changes

As far as timing belts are concerned, they will get their share of wear and tear so it would be wise to change them periodically. These belts are critical for the overall performance of a car and if you happen to find yourself with a broken one on the road, it will cause a lot of discomfort.

You can always carry a spare but the problem will be replacing it when you are on the road. Remember, belts are needed to make sure all engine components function properly. Failing to do so may affect these parts and give you a lot of headaches.

Oil the Door Hinges of Your Toyota

For cars that were manufactured for quite some years, the simple matter of putting attention to the squeaks you may hear each time you open the doors of your Toyota may become ignorable. However, if you are not careful, you may eventually encounter bigger problems like getting the point of replacing these door hinges if you don’t maintain them properly.

A simple oil applied on the door hinges can go a long way. Aside from saving on cost, you can also look at it as safekeeping your car the practical way for better performance each time you ride it again.

Change the Rubber Wipers of Your Car

Changing the wipers of your car may not be frequent but all you have to do is replace the rubber to make sure you get a clear view of the road during the rainy season. You don’t really have to change the whole wiper arm. All you have to do is see which arm needs replacement. It is easy just like putting a threat through a needle eye.

So the next time you ask for help from specialists, check out the wiper arms first. It just a matter of changing the rubber and will also save you a whole lot in car expenses.
